Maintenance Planner

Purpose

 

The Maintenance Planner is responsible for assisting the Maintenance Manager in all activities deployed from the maintenance department, including the ability to interact with the other departments to achieve team planning and scheduling. The Maintenance Planner is responsible for all KPI and metrics reporting, these reports include but not limited to work order progress & completion, PM’s scheduling, and completion. The position includes building the PM, PdM and CI programs in the SAP maintenance system to include all the assets to maintain the facility.

 

Duties

 

  • Review work requests in the form of work order notifications, written requests, and “action lists” for significant information and priority.
  • Conduct field walk downs to identify and document job requirements.
  • Identifies specific safety hazards that will be encountered in the performance of the proposed work.
  • Makes safety procedures available to technicians. Ensures that all safety procedures are incorporated into the job plan.
  • Estimates required hours on work order tasks, total work order durations and skills required to perform the task.
  • Plans jobs with appropriate level of detail for the given skilled trades workforce.
  • Determines and includes QA, environmental and regulatory requirements on jobs.
  • Gathers necessary engineering or technical documents, specifications, and drawings.
  • Writes clear and concise work procedures.
  • Determines and requests for parts required to perform the work.
  • Compiles information gathered above into a job package that is ready for technicians and reviews critical steps.
  • Create approved work orders in SAP PM.
  • Output and issue Preventive Maintenance work orders (PM04).
  • Schedule all maintenance work orders, including Preventive Maintenance, based on priority, equipment availability, and materials availability.
  • Maintain the open work order list for status, costs and priority.
  • Maintain the Preventive Maintenance work orders list for completion.
  • Maintain work order notification list for status and priority.
  • Review completed work orders, Collect and file, Record history.
  • Assist in the scheduling of contractor(s) for equipment repairs/rebuild work.
  • Maintains “Preventive Maintenance Compliance” by reporting weekly and monthly Planned & unplanned maintenance reports.
  • Maintain PM maintenance work order files and corrective action work orders for critical equipment.
  • Measures the maintenance backlog in its various forms and maintains a list of backlog ready work.
  • Provide the Maintenance Manager and the Maintenance Supervisor with the necessary reports, measurements, progress of work orders, planned work, and repetitive problems necessary to manage the department.
  • Develop and sustain Preventive Maintenance parts inventory list (continuous improvement).
  • Estimate costs of personnel, parts, and supplies to be used during weekly scheduled maintenance.
  • Estimate cost of personnel, parts, and supplies to be used during a schedule shutdown.
  • Assists the Maintenance Manager and the Maintenance Superintendent in annual budget preparation as it relates to safety and maintenance of facilities, grounds, and equipment.
  • Keeps abreast of latest manufacturing technologies and systems and engineering concepts to continually improve plant performance.

 

Other Duties:

 

  • Approve purchase orders of parts and equipment.
  • Operate within established budget.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Education/ Experience/ Skills Required

 

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English.
  • High school, technical school preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in food plant maintenance with 2 years at a maintenance II level.
  • Working knowledge of all tools and welding techniques for training purposes.
  • Working knowledge of TPM
  • SAP Maintenance Knowledge

 

Food Defense responsibilities

 

Engage in our “if you see something, say something” Food Defense Program. This will include any necessary training requirements upon hire, then annually. Employee must follow all aspects of the Food Defense Plan and have specific training in their area. Responsibilities to include the following.

  • Ensure that there are no chemicals and non-food grade lubricants or physical contaminants in the processing areas and report immediately to Supervisor if there is any infraction
  • Ensure that no personal belongings are stored in the processing areas and report immediately to Supervisor if there is any infraction
  • Report immediately to Supervisor if there are any suspicious activities or anything that seems not normal to you.
  • Ensure that employees, visitors, and contractors, are wearing the Company approved uniform and are following GMP and any other applicable Company policies. Report immediately to Supervisor if there is any infraction.
  • Report immediately to Supervisor if there is any unescorted visitor or contractor seen in the processing area
  • Conduct food defense Mitigation Strategy Inspection(s) at Actionable Process Steps (upon relevant training), whenever assigned.

Bump cap, hearing protection, hair net, beard net, gloves, slip resistant, steel toe shoes, face mask, face shield

  • Working knowledge of (TPM), FDA regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), sanitation processes/procedures and HACCP
  • Demonstrated knowledge of efficient and safe manufacturing operations to include product and associate safety, OSHA standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude, including the ability to disassemble and reassemble equipment

Physical Requirements

Compensation

The wage range for this role considers a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.  It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $48,379-$89,847 and is eligible for an annual bonus based off organizational performance.
