Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated entry-level Transportation Analyst to support the planning, tracking, and optimization of cross-border freight movements between the United States and Mexico. This role focuses on Customs entry as well as, Ocean,  truckload (TL), intermodal, and drayage operations in the dynamic US-Mexico trade corridor. The analyst will assist in data analysis, carrier coordination, compliance monitoring, and cost-efficiency initiatives to ensure timely delivery of goods. Ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals interested in North American supply chain logistics and nearshoring trends.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinating with brokers, customs brokers, and carriers compliant with FMCSA, MX regulations, and NAFTA/USMCA requirements.
  • Monitor and track daily cross-border shipments (US to Mexico and Mexico to US), including status updates on border crossings, drayage, customs clearance, and final delivery using Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
  • Support resolution of cross-border issues such as customs holds, inspections, documentation errors, or border delays; escalate urgent matters to senior team members.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipment documentation (e.g., commercial invoices, bills of lading, certificates of origin, pedimentos) and ensure adherence to cross-border compliance standards.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., procurement, warehouse, customs compliance) and external partners (carriers, customs brokers) to improve shipment efficiency.
  • Stay informed on relevant regulations, including FMCSA rules for Mexico-domiciled carriers, USMCA trade provisions, and border security procedures.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
  • At least one year of relevant experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, or freight coordination
  • Exposure to cross-border or U.S.–Mexico logistics preferred, but not required

 

Skills & Knowledge

  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English (written and verbal) required
  • Strong analytical capabilities, including advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, charts)
  • Foundational understanding of freight modes (truck, rail, intermodal) and cross-border logistics processes, including customs brokerage
  • Familiarity with U.S.–Mexico trade dynamics, nearshoring, or maquiladora operations is a plus

 

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation for this role includes base salary and eligibility for an annual bonus based on company performance. All incentive plans are subject to change.

 

 

The expected pay range for this role is $70,000 – $75,000 annually.

*The compensation will be commensurate with the level of knowledge, education, skills, and experience applicable to the position.
