Accounting Manager

Position Summary
The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations and ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting. This role plays a critical part in supporting month-end close, maintaining compliance with GAAP and internal controls, and partnering cross-functionally to support Bumble Bee Foods’ business objectives. The Accounting Manager will also lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff while driving process improvements and efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage AP team and general ledger staff
- Preparation of financial statements and schedules for internal leadership and external stakeholders
- Review balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
- Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes to ensure timely and accurate financial results
- Prepare audit schedules and respond to auditor inquiries
- Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and best accounting practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure proper accounting treatment and data integrity
- Assist in developing and documenting accounting policies and procedures
- Provide accounting guidance on new transactions, projects, and operational changes Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve controls, and enhance reporting efficiency
- Support system enhancements, ERP upgrades, and automation initiatives
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including people management or lead responsibilities
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting standards
- Experience with month-end close and financial statement preparation
- Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA or CMA certification
- Experience in consumer-packaged goods (CPG), food manufacturing, or manufacturing environments
- Public accounting experience (Big 4 or National Firm)
- Proficiency in Spanish (written and spoken)
- Experience with SAP ECC and/or S/4 HANA

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation for this role includes base salary and eligibility for an annual bonus based on company performance. All incentive plans are subject to change.
The expected pay range for this role is $120,000 – $148,000 annually.
*The compensation will be commensurate with the level of knowledge, education, skills, and experience applicable to the position.
