POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3rd Class Stationary Engineering License Required
  • Team player with strong technical, interpersonal, organizational and leadership skills – Required
  • Must be willing to work overtime as requested by the Chief
  • Must be legally allowed to work in Canada

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Must have experience as the primary Shift Operator as well as worked as a dayshift Maintenance Engineer
  • Knowledge of and experience with Automated Controls and PLC equipment and computer assisted equipment
  • Intermediate knowledge of mechanical and electrical trades
  • Ability to work independently
  • Must maintain open communications and teamwork with plant personnel while achieving critical maintenance objectives
  • Conscientious towards the needs of the Production Group with frequent communication with your customer
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics
  • Accustom to performing all aspects of maintenance in a power house setting

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Boiler room maintenance and shift coverage as needed with the use of Automated Controls and PLC equipment and computer assisted equipment
  • Ensures compliance with established standards and Legislation
  • Ability to work or fill-in for continuous shift operations without lateness or absenteeism is important
  • Able to design and make changes to existing Plant Systems
  • Able to maintain troubleshoot and perform repairs to auxiliary equipment
  • Must be willing to be on-call – Ability to perform unscheduled and emergency repairs as required
    • HVAC experience would be considered an asset
    • Ozone Depleting Substances permit would be considered an asset
