Data Engineer
Role Overview:
The Data Engineer at Bumble Bee Seafoods is responsible for designing, building, and operating the enterprise data platform that powers analytics, reporting, and advanced data use cases across the organization. This role focuses on data ingestion, transformation, modeling, and platform reliability, with Microsoft Fabric as the primary data engineering and analytics platform.
The Data Engineer will work closely with analytics, IT, and business stakeholders to integrate data from ERP, supply chain, and operational systems into governed, scalable, and high‑performance analytical data assets. This role emphasizes strong engineering discipline, data architecture, and operational excellence rather than ad‑hoc analysis or report creation.
Key Responsibilities:
The Data Engineer partners with analytics and business teams to translate data requirements into robust, production‑grade data solutions. This role requires deep technical expertise in data pipelines, storage, modeling, and performance optimization, with a focus on building reusable and future‑ready data assets.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain end‑to‑end data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric and Azure Synapse, including ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and storage.
- Develop and manage Fabric Lakehouse and Warehouse architectures to support enterprise analytics and downstream consumption.
- Implement scalable data ingestion from ERP, supply chain, and operational systems using Fabric Pipelines, Dataflows Gen2, and related tooling.
- Apply strong data modeling and data engineering best practices, including dimensional modeling, normalization where appropriate, and performance optimization.
- Create and maintain curated analytical data layers that serve as trusted sources for Power BI semantic models and other consumers.
- Ensure data quality, reliability, and consistency through validation, monitoring, and structured error handling.
- Collaborate with analytics and BI teams to support Power BI semantic models, focusing on data structures, performance, and governance rather than report design.
- Partner with IT security and infrastructure teams to implement role‑based access control, data security, and compliance standards.
- Establish and maintain documentation for data pipelines, schemas, transformations, and architectural decisions.
- Support deployment, versioning, and lifecycle management of data assets across development, test, and production environments.
- Continuously evaluate and adopt new Microsoft Fabric capabilities to improve scalability, performance, and maintainability.
- Contribute to a collaborative, engineering‑focused culture that values clean design, automation, and long‑term platform health.
Qualifications and Skills Desired:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field.
- Strong experience with data engineering concepts, including ETL/ELT, orchestration, data modeling, and pipeline design.
- Proficiency in SQL for data transformation, validation, and performance tuning.
- Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Fabric and Azure Synapse Analytics.
- Solid understanding of relational and analytical data modeling techniques.
- Experience working with large, complex datasets from multiple source systems.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and an engineering mindset focused on reliability and scalability.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with analytics, IT, and business stakeholders.
- Experience with Python is a must.
Preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse, Warehouse, Dataflows Gen2, Pipelines, and Notebooks.
- Understanding of foundational data architecture concepts such as medallion architecture design
- Familiarity with Power BI semantic models from a data engineering and performance perspective.
- Experience integrating data from SAP S/4HANA or similar ERP systems.
- Understanding of supply chain or manufacturing data domains.
- Exposure to data governance concepts such as lineage, certification, and access control.
- Experience with automation, CI/CD concepts, or infrastructure‑as‑code for data platforms.
- Exposure to machine learning or advanced analytics pipelines is a plus.
- Experience with Azure DevOps preferred.
- Experience with Pyspark and exposure to Apache Spark is preferred.
- Experience with R is preferred.

The expected pay range for this role is $122,000 – $130,000 annually.
*The compensation will be commensurate with the level of knowledge, education, skills, and experience applicable to the position.

IT Support Technician
This is a critical role within the Bumble Bee Seafood Company as it is the first-line technical support for all users and departments. Accurately logging and helping to resolve support issues by utilizing our ticketing software. Ensure issues are resolved within the timeframes specified by the business and as outlined in our helpdesk service level guide. Troubleshoots end-user hardware and software problems. Makes repairs to company endpoints such as desktops, laptops, peripherals, and printers.
Essential Functions
- Timely and effective response to help desk tickets.
- Provide outstanding support for remote workers.
- Manage equipment inventory.
- Assist with maintaining on-premise hardware when needed.
- Research end-user hardware and recommend purchase options.
- Support office moves and additions, as required.
- Provide primary support on desktop and application issues.
- Assist with end-user training as appropriate.
- Onboard employees with account setup and initial computer use training.
- Offboard departing employees accounts, including equipment collection and company phone transition.
- Participate in other IT initiatives, as assigned.
Qualifications
- Requires two years of information technology related work experience.
- Hold at least one IT certificate or be able to obtain one within 90 days of hire. Microsoft (e.g., MS-XXX) or CompTIA certifications are preferred.
- Strong analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Self-starter, with the ability to work independently and within a team atmosphere.
- Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft 365, and Microsoft Windows.
- Experience supporting web-based information systems.
- Experience with cloud-based telephony.
- Superior interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Must have excellent attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and strong organizational, analytical and project management skills.
- Ability to build and maintain positive and supportive working relationships with internal users.
- Strong preference for a bi-lingual (fluent Spanish) candidate.
Work Schedule:
Core schedule is 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. May be required to participate in an on-call rotation with several other team members. However, flexibility is required due to the nature of business and departmental needs. Schedule may change, as needed, to include weekends and holidays or if the company changes standard working schedules.
Required to be available during declared emergencies to perform duties as directed by management.

Job Title: Data Systems Engineer
Location: Location: San Deigo, CA
Reports To: Sr. Data Manager (Based in Cape May)
Travel: Up to 50% (as needed to support each plant)
Position Summary:
We’re looking for a Systems or Database Engineer to lead the architecture, setup, and ongoing support of our SCADA ecosystem. This role will focus on building a reliable and secure data infrastructure using Ignition, integrating it with Power BI and SharePoint to support real-time operations visibility and reporting across our facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the configuration, deployment, and maintenance of Ignition SCADA across our production environments.
• Design and manage backend databases supporting SCADA data collection and storage.
• Build and maintain data pipelines from Ignition to Power BI and SharePoint, ensuring clean, structured data for reporting and analysis.
• Collaborate with Operations, IT, and Engineering teams to identify key data needs and translate them into functional dashboards and tools.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and manage updates, patches, and backups.
• Implement and maintain security protocols for both OT and IT components of the SCADA system.
• Document system architecture, SOPs, and change logs to ensure long-term maintainability.
Qualifications:
• Demonstrated experience in data engineering, SCADA, or industrial systems (preferably using Ignition).
• Hands-on skills with SQL, Python, and data modeling in industrial environments.
• Proficient in Power BI, SharePoint, and enterprise reporting tools.
• Experience working with databases (e.g., SQL Server, Snowflake, PostgreSQL) and data pipelines (e.g., Airflow, ETL frameworks).
• Familiarity with network security and system architecture best practices in OT/IT environments.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and operational teams.
• Ability to travel regularly to Cape May, Santa Fe Springs, and Blacks Harbour.
