Purpose:  

The sanitation crew is responsible for maintaining plant sanitation. Using a High-Pressure Hose, the sanitation crew washes and sanitizes each area of production at the end of each day to remove any trace elements of the day’s product (remaining fish pieces/bones/scales) as well as any allergens (Mustard, Soy) that have been used during our sealing and canning process. 

You will be successful in this role by performing the following:

  • Hosing down all machines used throughout the production day using our 950 PSI High-Pressure hoses. 
  • Cleaning production machines using specific instructions and chemicals when required. 
  • Disassemble necessary machines to ensure a thorough cleaning and sanitation. 
  • Reassemble necessary machines once properly cleaned and sanitized. 
  • Removing all traces of any allergens or leftover fish product from production area. 
  • Sanitize equipment following company operating procedures and established practices. 
  • Ensuring all assigned equipment is cleaned and sanitized by shift’s end. 

Requirements: Successful candidates must have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Able to safely operate a 950 PSI High-Pressure Hose. 
  • Medically cleared to wear a respirator during shifts. 
  • Clean shaven (if applicable) to ensure a proper fit of a respirator. 
  • Physically capable of lifting upwards of 50lbs frequently and capable of safely bending, squatting, stooping, crouching, and climbing over and around necessary equipment for sanitation. 
  • Ability to work the evening shift and overtime as required (Hours may fluctuate). 
  • Able to follow instructions for proper, and safe, sanitation of equipment with chlorinated chemicals or acid products. 
  • Able to meet required timelines for cleaning and sanitizing equipment. 
  • Strong written and oral communication skills. 
  • Prior experience/knowledge of sanitation in a food processing environment is preferred.
  • Grade 10 education or higher. 
  • Must be legally allowed to work in Canada. 

Working Conditions and Physical Capacities: 

This position can be physically demanding with a combination of standing, walking, bending, crouching, squatting, and stooping on cement floors in addition to climbing/maneuvering over equipment. Applicants must be physically capable of lifting upwards of 50lb frequently during the duration of the shift. Applicants must be able to work in a variety of hot and cold environments depending on shift needs. Applicants must also be capable of reading in English to understand chemical labels, as well as writing and speaking English to maintain communication with co-workers/supervisor.

Purpose:  

The Sanitation Working Team Lead position is aimed at having a trained leader prepared for succession planning.  They will be responsible for ensuring that the Sanitation Department is running efficiently and effectively. The Team Lead will be assigned to the Night Shift (2nd Shift). The Team Lead is tasked with ensuring their assigned shift operates safely. The Team Lead is responsible for directing all Team Members on their assigned shift, ensuring they have the knowledge and capabilities to perform their assigned duties efficiently and safely. Team Leads must be prepared to address any safety, or performance, problems as they arise in an appropriate manner, coaching the team members with constructive feedback. 

Duties: 

  • Ensuring the Sanitation Department operates efficiently and safely. 
  • Communicating effectively with other departments.
  • Ensuring all existing, and new, team members complete their required training in a timely manner. 
  • Directing team members on daily tasks to ensure clear, and concise communication, for team member understanding. 
  • Addressing any performance, or safety, concerns as they arise in an appropriate manner. 
  • Coaching the team members with appropriate feedback.
  • Attending any necessary meetings (if scheduled). 
  • Completing any necessary paperwork on daily sanitation of Production lines/areas. 
  • Supporting the Sanitation Supervisor when necessary (or tasked). 
  • Other duties as assigned by the Sanitation Supervisor. 

Requirements: 

  • Strong computer skills are necessary, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite. 
  • SAP Software experience is an asset. 
  • Five (5) years or more of experience within a Food Production Facility is preferred. 
  • Must have demonstrated leadership qualities. 
  • Must have strong written and oral communication skills. 
  • Providing clear, understandable direction to team members for the assignment of daily tasks. 
  • Must be able to work assigned shifts, including evenings, overtime, and weekends when scheduled. 
  • Must be capable of both multitasking and prioritizing (when necessary).

This position can be physically demanding with any combination of standing, sitting, and/or walking on cement floors for extended periods of time. The ability to climb ladders is required to access locations within the Tank Room for sanitizing. The ability to operate computerized equipment is required. The ability to work in an environment that may be damp, wet, and/or cool is required. Excessive levels of noise can be expected during periods of high production.

Purpose:

The Security Guards are the initial point of contact with visitors entering the facility. The Guards are responsible for maintaining the safety of all personnel within the premises, including visitors as they enter. Our Security Guards are on-site 24/7, working in shifts of 12 hours to maintain a constant presence on site. Guards are responsible for protecting our facility, property, and all personnel on site through rigid security policies and procedures. Enforcing company rules, in addition to those set upon us by Homeland Security and the Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism, requires all Guards to have a high sense of safety and urgency.

Guards monitor the property through the use of extensive video surveillance, in addition to necessary security checks when necessary. Guards are responsible for monitoring all incoming trucks and visitors to the property and facility, documenting their comings and going through detailed reports, and ensuring all truck weights are as documented. Guards are responsible for directing all incoming calls and responding to any emergencies on property when/if they occur.

You will be successful through the following responsibilities:

  • Enforcing Company Rules for Visitors and Employees and enforcing rules as mandated by Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT).
  • Protect company property, assets, employees, and all visitors.
  • Operate security control room equipment, while following all safety and emergency procedures.
  • Responding to alarms and other emergencies, while monitoring property and facility through the use of over 100 security cameras.
  • Initiate Emergency Response when appropriate.
  • Perform security checks when necessary and inspect, and conduct, searches when applicable.
  • Maintain records of all security related activities, which includes but not limited to weighing trucks and maintain weight records.
  • Monitoring cameras, walkie talkies, and phone lines and direct incoming calls to correct personnel.
  • General housekeeping of shared work area.
  • Control general access to facility/property, including pass management & key access.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience as a Security Guard or similar position (due to Homeland Security Requirements).
  • Completed High School; some college/CEGEP/ vocational or technical training.
  • High degree of accuracy and have the ability to complete detailed reports and documents.
  • Sense of urgency when necessary and have strong customer service skills.
  • Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong computer skills (a proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel is required).
  • Cooperative attitude and respect for fellow team members.
  • Neat working habits and be willing to maintain cleanliness of Guard Station.
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality.
  • Strong attention to details.
  • Legally allowed to work in Canada.

This position can be physically demanding with any combination of sitting, standing, and/or walking for extended periods of time during the duration of the shift. About the Role

As the Territory Sales Manager, Caribbean, you will contribute to the company’s continued growth by:

  • Managing overall canned goods sales and marketing in Trinidad, Bahamas, and Leeward Windward Islands.
  • Meeting sales objectives to maximize profits throughout these regions, along with identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities in these markets.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Work closely with distributor partners to support strategic sales and marketing priorities to achieve monthly sales/profitability budget.
  • Develop strategic plans to drive our brand and business objectives with each distributor partner and retail, with recognition of the regional differences, marketplace positions and competitive set.
  • Monitoring competitive activity, as well as product growth potential
  • Preparing sales and production budgets and market price structures

About the Role

About the Role

The Business Planning Analyst (BPA) conducts evaluations of current manufacturing processes to assist management with efficient execution of the operating plan.  The BPA works with all departments, documenting findings, and assisting with providing clear explanations to the business.  Under the guidance of the Controller, the BPA serves as multi-functional support to the Blacks Harbour Finance team by assisting with numerous tasks including weekly production cost analysis, monthly balance sheet and income statement preparation, pension plan administration, CIP oversight, cash forecasts, and meeting month end financial close deadlines for manufacturing and marine operations.

The Business Planning Analyst will be involved in various functions within the finance team with the following responsibilities outlined below:

Business Analysis

  • Perform various cost analysis of processes and cost centers for evaluation of business impact
  • Prepare weekly production cost analysis (KPI’s)
  • Assist in preparation of forward-looking standard costs

 Month-End Close

  • Assist the Controller in ensuring meeting financial close deadlines
  • Preparing applicable month-end journal entries in a timely and accurate manner for CLSC and CBMC
  • Update month-end schedules required for balance sheet analysis comparing results versus prior quarter (PQ), year-end (YE) and prior year (PY).
  • Prepare monthly income statement and gross profit schedules
  • Oversee the administration of the company hourly and salaried pension plan, and related reconciliations

Corporate Finance

  • Prepare cash requirement forecasts
  • Fixed Asset validation including construction in progress, capital expenditure additions, retirements, and request for capital expenditures.
  • Review Balance Sheet files and submit to Canadian Corporate office

Audit

  • Assist in assembling supporting documents for the regularly scheduled internal/external audits throughout the year under the guidance of the Controller.

 What You Need to Succeed

  • A related university accounting or finance degree
  • Experience in costing is an asset
  • Knowledgeable and experienced in working with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, preferably SAP ECC 6.0, and MS Office Suite primarily Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Minimum 3-5 years of related experience in business planning and general accounting duties

About the Role

In this role, you will join a team of employees focused on Fulfillment and Logistics solutions for Domestic and International Operations. As the Transportation and Fulfillment Manager, you will contribute to the company’s continued growth by:

Supporting supply chain and logistics activities associated with the Clover Leaf domestic business and when necessary, assisting other members of the team with tasks in their business units.

This role interacts with internal and external contacts including sales, procurement, demand planning, production, customs brokers, QA, freight forwarders, 3PL’s and government agencies (CFIA/CBSA) ensuring a seamless and timely receipt and shipping of inventory.

Specific Responsibilities include:

· Manage the Outbound Customer Order Process (OTC-Order to Cash):

o Supervise the Customer Service team (Customer Fulfillment Representatives)

o Complete month end reporting and month end closing activities on a timely basis

o Liaise with Sales to address and resolve order blocks and customer service issues at large

o Ensure orders are processed to company standards ensuring customer Requested Delivery Dates (RDD) are attained

· Administer and participate in all claims and Customer deduction investigations (OSD-over, short and damages)

· Oversee transportation budgets and expenses, including negotiating contracts with carriers and vendors to secure competitive rates.

· Monitor and evaluate transportation performance metrics, including on-time delivery, transportation costs, and carrier performance, to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.

· Manage Carrier relations and onboarding process for Clover Leaf Domestic

o Inbound (Ocean Freight, Intermodal, Road)

o Outbound

o Customer Pick up Programs

· Manage the third-party payment process for Freight invoices

· Oversee the monthly accrual process for all freight activities

· Liaise with Logistics Coordinators to Mitigate Demurrage and other Accessorial charges on inbound shipments.

· Liaise with all relevant stakeholders as appropriate (Sales, Marketing, Technical Services, Finance, Logistics, Freight Forwarders, 3 PL’s)

· Support and provide backup to other members of the Logistics/Supply Chain team.

About the role

Reporting to the Director of Health, Safety & Environment, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the maintenance department and to supervise the maintenance team at our facilities.  You will evaluate systems or facilities to determine maintenance or repairs that need to be performed, develop maintenance procedures and schedules, train staff and ensure the smooth running and upkeep of our equipment to meet operational needs. You must be reliable and have a great eye for detail.  You need technical skills and knowledge of various crafts such as carpentry, electrical, plumbing and industrial mechanics.  Leadership and knowledge of administrative tasks such as scheduling are also essential.

  • The responsibility and accountability for providing leadership, direction, and management of our maintenance team.
  • Be responsible for ensuring that maintenance programs and initiatives are adequately implemented to ensure the maximum availability of the equipment to achieve superior customer satisfaction, high quality, total safety and low cost through the skills and abilities of the employees.
  • Lead the shift operation, supporting the team’s continuous development to become high performing, working both at the situational and systemic level.
  • Lead the execution and sustainability of World Class Manufacturing efforts for the process area and team.

  • Ensure efficient and cost-effective management of asset care processes and activities to maximize equipment reliability and asset preservation.
  • You may also lead projects and indirectly manage staff for projects through functional leadership.

What You Need to be Successful:

  • Must be a Journeyman Industrial Mechanic/Industrial Electrician with a minimum of 5-7 years manufacturing experience (preferably in food manufacturing),
  • Should have a minimum of 2-4 years of supervisory experience in a unionized maintenance setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; you demonstrate ability to coach, motivate, and manage/develop maintenance employees, encouraging two-way communication among team members and between team members and their team leader.
  • Ability to lead change, engage employees and create opportunities to involve employees in daily decision-making processes.
  • Strong conflict resolution skills with the ability to reach win/win solutions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong technical, planning, problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Practical knowledge of best maintenance processes (planning/scheduling, condition-based monitoring) and tools.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

About the Role

The Deductions Coordinator (DC) is the interface between our organization and its global Customer community as it relates to short payments.  The DC is responsible for ensuring customer claims are processed in an accurate and timely fashion.  The DC collaborates with employees at all levels within Clover Leaf, Bumble Bee, and our Customer base to provide clear and professional direction in the management of claim settlement. This is a one-year contract position.

 

What You’ll Do Here

  • Under Agreement Management:
    • Be a primary point of contact for our Customer Community as it relates to Vendor Agreements and Pricing Agreements for submitted claims.
    • Understand program definitions between in-house and external interpretations of the Agreements.
    • Facilitate resolution of any matters resulting in an adjustment to the original claim (if applicable).
      • This is completed through documentation proof to support pricing adjustments, allowance differences, shipment shortages, non-compliance charges, etc.
    • Under Deduction Managements:
      • Accurately and timely process customer claims through the usage of CAS Deduction Management System in Q1 of 2024.
        • Claims should be cleared within a 30-day cycle.
        • Audit differences are resolved through the use of mail, email, or fax.
    • Promoting resolution by collaborating professionally with Internal Sales, Customer services, and Logistic personnel to manage Customer contacts for the business.
      • This includes working with Customers to pervade pertinent information regarding agreements.
    • Follow all standard operating procedures to settle audits differences.
        • This can include issuing credit adjustments to Customer accounts, assisting with resolving shipment shortage issues, proposing changes to internal customer master, pricing, and promotion allowance records.
        • Provide guidance to proposed amendments to the Customer master records where warranted.
    • Actively participate with the on-going system upgrade as Clover Leaf Seafoods Corp. transitions from CAS to SAP as our main deduction management enterprise system in Q2 of 2024.
  • Under Monthly duties:
    • Routine review of all unprocessed claims in the deduction management system with the CCCS to determine further steps.
      • This includes assessing the cause of any discrepancies, delays, and proposed amendments.
    • Monthly review of Promotion Allowance funding against closed customer claims.
      • Any further action steps will be prepared against potential risks and follow up on open matters are reviewed in details.

  • Completed Post-Secondary School certification, diploma or degree.
  • Experience related to Accounts Receivable is a strong asset.
  • Experience in a computerized, and automated, work environment.
    • This includes strong technical skills in Microsoft Office Applications, specifically Excel & Word.

About the Role

Under the guidance of the Credit, Collections, and Claims Supervisor (CCCS), the Cash Application Specialist (CAS) plays a crucial role in ensuring all incoming cash receipts are posted in a timely manner.  The CAS will be relied upon to accurately and efficiently record and reconcile inbound payments, ensuring customer trade receivable accounts and cash ledgers are always up to date. This is a one-year contract.

 

What You’ll Do Here

  • Process and reconcile the accounts receivable sub-ledger, bank deposits, and remittances.
    • This includes researching, reviewing, identifying, and resolving complex payment discrepancies related to cash discounts, promotion allowances, and logistics claims, as required.
  • Post daily receipts from multiple bank accounts in various payment types such as wires, ACH, and checks (including customer credit memos).
  • Capture various customer dispute claims which will be processed further in the Trade Promotion Management (TPM) software.
  • Participate with on-going system upgrade which will modernize the cash application process through the use of a BAI2 bank file to upload daily cash receipts.
    • In this new procedure, the CAS will be responsible for clearing the Bank Suspense account where customer receipts that the system are unable to find matches automatically reside.
  • Provide continuous feedback on the new system towards potential process improvements
  • Organize remittance advices and all supporting invoices related to various promotional and logistics claims for each customer
  • Assists with Accounts Receivable inbox management which includes organization of customer subfolders and sorting of claim supporting documents.
  • Work closely and provide assistance to the Deduction team in clearing non-trade Logistics claims in ECC.
  • Assist the Deduction team in clearing trade promotion-related claims.
  • Run related reports on as needed basis
