Supervisor, Production
About the Role:
We are looking for a Supervisor of Production to successfully oversee and coordinate the daily production teams including Golden Smoke, Snack line, Hermasa, SAP Packing and Scissor Tables.
As a supervisor for the production area, you will be responsible for the smooth flow of operations through high levels of customer satisfaction, while managing production goals. You will ensure coordination with other departments and manage team member resourcing and performance.
To be successful as the Supervisor of Production, you should demonstrate strong leadership skills, detailed knowledge of the food industry, and a good eye for detail ensuring the manufacturing facility is always up to code and running efficiently. You should have excellent verbal and written communication abilities and feel comfortable presenting to your team, as you will be required to ensure your team has adequate safety training on a regular basis. This Posting is open to those candidates possessing a 3rd or 4th class license, or less than and willing to enter an apprentice program as an Engineer.
The successful candidate will be required to attain a 3rd Class Operator’s ticket within a specific period of time and will receive training and coaching from their Team Members and the Chief Engineer.
Compensation will be based on experience & qualifications as provided under the Collective Agreement.
As a member of our Power House Team you will responsible for the safe and efficient operation of equipment and systems in the three (3) distinct functional areas:
- Steam Generation and distribution,
- Ammonia Refrigeration
- Fresh & Waste Water Treatment
Your Duties Will Include:
- In the Maintenance Engineer Role, you will be responsible for;
- Boiler room maintenance and the maintenance of the steam distribution system,
- You may be required to provide shift coverage for the operation of the boilers on an as needed basis.
- Monitor and repair of Fresh & Waste Water Treatment equipment and systems
- Monitor and assisting with repairs to refrigeration equipment and systems
- This shift generally consists of an 8 hr day scheduled Monday to Friday, days or afternoons
- You will be tasked with working alone as needed, or with a small group of Engineers.
- Additional duties may be assigned by the Chief Engineer to ensure coverage of all necessary Boiler Room responsibilities.

- All work must be performed in a manner that is safe and in compliance with established standards and Legislation.
- A team member must be able to maintain troubleshoot and perform repairs to the equipment and to design and make changes to existing Plant Systems, where needed to maintain safety and efficiency.

Security Constable
Purpose:
The Security Constables are the initial point of contact with visitors entering the facility. The Constables are responsible for maintain the safety of all personnel within the premises, including visitors as they enter. Our Security Constables are on-site 24/7, working in shifts of 12 hours to maintain a constant presence on site. Constables are responsible for protecting our facility, property, and all personnel on site through rigid security policies and procedures. Enforcing company rules, in addition to those set upon us by Homeland Security and the Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism, requires all Constables to have a high sense of safety and urgency.
Constables monitor the property through the use of extensive video surveillance, in addition to necessary security checks when necessary. Constables are responsible for monitoring all incoming trucks and visitors to the property and facility, documenting their comings and going through detailed reports, and ensuring all truck weights are as documented. Constables are responsible for directing all incoming calls and responding to any emergencies on property when/if they occur.
Duties:
Enforcing Company Rules for Visitors and Employees.
Enforcing Rules as mandated by Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT).
Protect company property, assets, employees, and all visitors.
Operate security control room equipment, while following all safety and emergency procedures.
Responding to alarms and other emergencies, while monitoring property and facility through the use of over 100 security cameras.
Initiate Emergency Response when appropriate.
Perform security checks when necessary and inspect, and conduct, searches when applicable.
Maintain records of all security related activities, which includes but not limited to weighing trucks and maintain weight records.

Clean Up Crew Technicians
Purpose:
The Clean-Up Crew are employees responsible for maintaining Plant sanitation at the end of each shift. Using a High-Pressure Hose, the Clean-Up Crew wash and sanitize each area of production at the end of each production day to remove any trace elements of the day’s product (remaining fish pieces/bones/scales) as well as any allergens (Mustard, Soy) that have been used during our sealing and canning process.
Duties:
- Hosing down all machines used throughout the production day using our 950 PSI High-Pressure hoses.
- Cleaning production machines using specific instructions and chemicals when required.
- Disassemble necessary machines to ensure a thorough cleaning and sanitation.
- Reassemble necessary machines once properly cleaned and sanitized.
- Removing all traces of any allergens or leftover fish product from production area.
- Sanitize equipment following company operating procedures and established practices.
- Ensuring all assigned equipment is cleaned and sanitized by shift’s end.
Requirements:
- Must be able to safely operate a 950 PSI High-Pressure Hose.
- Must be medically cleared to wear a respirator during assigned shifts.
- Must be clean shaven (if applicable) to ensure a proper fit of a respirator.
- Must be physically capable of lifting upwards of 50lbs frequently.

Electrician Class II
Purpose:
The Electrician’s on site are responsible for installing, maintaining, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing our industrial electrical equipment, and any associated electrical and electronic controls, through the usage of specialized computer software. They are responsible for ensuring the company’s power supply to the equipment each day. They are responsible for working with the rest of the Maintenance crew to ensure that our equipment and facilities are operational and completing any necessary electrical repairs and/or upgrades in a timely manner.
Duties:
- Inspect and maintain current electrical systems.
- Ensure current electrical systems comply with local electrical codes and safety standards.
- Provide preliminary planning, sketching, and estimates for the installations, repairs, upgrades, and maintenance of new and current electrical systems.
- Interpret and read blueprints and electrical drawings.
- Lay conduct in walls, temporary partitions, and any other concealed areas as necessary.
- Write, and interpret ladder logic problems (and troubleshoot as necessary).
- Interface with PLC’s on-line to troubleshoot and receive program modifications.
- Maintain open communications, and teamwork, with plant personnel while achieving critical maintenance objectives.
- Perform unscheduled and emergency repairs as necessary.
- This requires being on-call when necessary.
Requirements:
- Journeyman Industrial Control Technologist designation with PLC’s and 3 years of Electrical and Electronic experience in an Industrial setting OR Industrial Electrician license with 5 years of Electrical experience in an Industrial setting.
- Must be capable, and willing, to travel for extended periods of time both within, and outside, of Canada when necessary.
- Must be willing to take extra courses, or training, when necessary.
- Must be capable of working the scheduled, assigned shifts and any required overtime for this position: 8 hours minimum upwards of 12 hours depending on operational requirements.
- Must be capable of operating a computer to monitor PLC’s.
- Must be able to complete written reports and estimates accurately, and in a timely manner.
- Experience working in an industrial environment, specifically in a food-processing environment, is highly preferred.

About the Role
Reporting to the Senior Manager Logistics and Customer Service, the Logistics and Customer Service Coordinator assists with order fulfillment functions across key markets within the Bumble Bee Seafoods International territories. You will join a team focused on Logistics and Customer Service solutions that support our Sales and Marketing initiatives.
This role interacts with internal and external contacts including sales, procurement, demand planning, production, customs brokers, QA, freight forwarders, 3PL’s and government agencies (CFIA/CBSA/USDC/USDA) ensuring a seamless and timely processing of sales orders.
As a Logistics and Customer Service Coordinator, you will contribute to the company’s continued growth by executing on the following responsibilities:
- Sales Order processing utilizing SAP/OTC/PTP functionality

Stationary Engineer Class III
Purpose:
Our Stationary Engineers are in charge of operating and monitoring on-site boilers to ensure they function safely and efficiently. Their daily responsibilities often include starting and/or shutting down boilers (as necessary), conducting safety and maintenance inspections, tracking water levels, tracking gauges (pressure, steam, etc.), checking fuel supplies, and recording the daily readings. They may also be tasked with performing basic repairs and/or adjustments, controlling the pressure/steam to the rest of the facility, controlling the chemical levels (Ammonia and/or Chlorine), inspecting the fluids used each day, and producing regular progress reports for the Supervisor. They must follow all protocols and regulations to ensure safe operations of the boilers. Additionally, they will be responsible for performing basic assigned tasks during times they are working, but not assigned to operate the boilers (depending on daily requirements, this may compose the majority of their duties).
Duties:
- Boiler room maintenance and shift coverage as needed with the use of Automated Controls and PLC equipment and computer assisted equipment.
- Ensures compliance with established standards and Legislation.
- Ability to work or fill-in for continuous shift operations without lateness or absenteeism is important.

About the Role

- Assist in developing and documenting systems policies and procedures, including system requirements and internal controls.

What You Need to Succeed
- University Degree in Accounting or Finance, along with a completed, or nearing completion, of a recognized accounting designation
- 3+ years of relevant work experience
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication, and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of common costing practice
- Able to effectively collaborate with all team members both internally within the organization, and externally.
- Strong technical skills with ability to manage, interpret, and present data using various tools
- Strong analytical thinker with proven problem-solving capabilities, particularly as they relate to processes and systems

- Microsoft Office with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (pivot, power pivot, power query, vlookup, offset, etc.)

Hand Packers (Piecework)
Fish Plant Workers – NOC 9463
Purpose:
Our Hand Packers are team members responsible for manually packing, and occasionally cutting, our raw product (fish steaks, fish fillets, precut fish, and/or whole fish) into designated cans based on the daily production requirements. These packers are responsible for ensuring the daily production quota is fulfilled to the best of their ability. These Packers pack, or cut, the product for further processing and packaging. They are responsible for visually inspecting the product that reaches them to identify any defects, issues, or problems with the product that render it unfit for further packing. They ensure their product follows Company standards before processing it at their designated workstation. Additionally, they may be tasked with packing their received product according to daily weight requirements (in the case of fish steaks and precut fish), or further cutting their received fish for packing (in the case of fish fillets and whole fish). Lastly, the Hand Packers are responsible for ensuring the cans provided are in good condition (meaning there are no defects, dents, or rips of the can).
Duties:
- Manually packing processed fish (steaks/precuts) into designated cans.
- Manually cutting fish product to daily specifications (fillets/whole fish).
- Manually packing their cut product into designated cans.
- Visually checking received raw product for defects/issues with quality.
- Ensuring product is in accordance with Company standards.
- Ensuring product cans comply to Company standards (no rips, tears, defects, dents, peeling).
- Ensuring placed product conform to daily weight requirements.
- Packing to meet the daily production quota (to the best of their ability).
Requirements:
- Must be physically capable of standing, and/or walking for extended periods of time.
- Must be physically capable of packing by hand (this will require some dexterity/movement of all fingers).
- Must be capable of inspecting fish product (raw or processed) for defects.
- Must be capable of following Company policies and ensuring product conforms to standards.
- Must be capable of handling raw fish product for processing.
- Must be capable of cutting (using Company provided scissors) fish for production (when required).
- Grade 10 education or higher.
- Must be legally allowed to work in Canada.
Working Conditions and Physical Capacities:
This position can be physically demanding at times, with a combination of standing and/or walking for periods of time during the assigned shift on cement floors. Additionally, the use of Company provided scissors (which are kept sharp and rust-free) require workers to be vigilant with clear eyesight (you must be able to clearly see what you are doing, and what is around you, at all times). Excessive noise may be experienced during periods of high production (dependent on machine production within the facility), as well as cold/hot temperatures above the normal level (depending on machine production within the facility).
