Sustainability Analyst

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

 

  • Advance internal data systems in ways that improve integration and streamlining of sustainability data for improved internal analysis and reporting as well as external customer and regulator reporting.
  • Utilize data visualization techniques and sustainability management platforms to analyze data and identify trends, patterns, and correlations related to sustainability performance. This analysis may involve using software tools such as Power BI, SAP, Excel, PowerPoint, and other internally developed sustainability data platforms.
  • Work cross functionally with key departments such as Quality Assurance and IT on projects that involve sustainability data and systems alignment for more integrated and efficient data flow and processes.
  • Work with team members around the globe (Thailand, Indonesia, Taiwan…) on sustainability and traceability projects that integrate across our global operations and sister companies.
  • Advance Bumble Bee’s internal traceability product tracking systems and consumer facing Trace My Catch system by improving efficiencies, implementing traceability standards, implementing data validation tools, and performing updates as needed.
  • Support Senior Sustainability Analyst in customer and regulatory reporting across topics such as sustainable sourcing, packaging, carbon emissions reductions, and other topics as needed.
  • Manage data lists and processes that support Bumble Bee’s due diligence in ensuring legal and responsibly sourced products in its supply.
  • Monitor news and media reports on sustainable seafood issues applicable to Bumble Bee’s supply chain.
  • Identify opportunities for data, systems, and process improvements and provide recommendations for enhancing the company’s sustainability performance.
  • Other duties as needed.

 

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Minimum of 3 years similar work experience required.
  • Desired experience with product traceability and electronic traceability systems.
  • Strong background in data analysis tools and techniques, data visualization, and database management. Experience with software such as Excel, SAP, Power BI, and PowerPoint would be beneficial.
  • Desire to stay up to date on emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in sustainability and data analytics, and adapt to evolving business and industry needs.
  • Understanding sustainability principles, practices, and frameworks relevant to the seafood industry is beneficial. Familiarity with sustainability certifications, standards, and reporting guidelines is desired.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capacity to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainability considerations into business processes and decision-making.
  • Ability to critically evaluate data, identify trends, and draw insights to inform decision-making and problem-solving related to sustainability challenges and opportunities.
  • Flexibility to work outside of standard business hours to collaborate with team members that work around the globe (Thailand, Indonesia, Taiwan…).
  • Experience in the seafood or Consumer Packaged Goods industry would be beneficial.
  • Team player who’s eager to support priority urgent work that requires additional capacity.
  • Adaptable and able to handle unanticipated external requests with short timeline deliverables.

The pay range for this role is $80,000 – $90,000 annually.

Accounts Payable Lead

Will be responsible for supporting the procure to pay process by processing invoices, managing workflows, researching discrepancies, and communicating with vendors as well assisting with accounting period-end close accruals and working on special items as needed. Will work effectively with personnel from other departments and affiliated companies to ensure timely, accurate invoice postings and service request responses. Position has potential for growth into more complex tasks.

Essential Duties:

  • Processing high volume purchase order and non-purchase order-based vendor invoices with accuracy using the Vendor Invoice Management tool and SAP.
  • Prioritizing processing invoices based on due dates and resolving escalated issues in a timely manner.
  • Research and resolve any discrepancies with invoice coding and documentation, supporting the AP team in troubleshooting issues
  • Communicating with vendors, team members, and other individuals as needed to resolve invoice discrepancies, obtain missing documents, and field vendor inquiries.
  • Review and reconcile vendor statements for completeness and payment status.
  • Providing vendors with remittance backup for payments as needed.
  • Downloading invoices from vendor portals for processing.
  • Entering contract-based amounts for payments.
  • Assisting with accounting month end close accruals for pending invoices, accruals for freight, and account reconciliations
  • Entering system-based intercompany invoices and validating markups
  • Establish cross-functional relationships while driving process efficiency.
  • Special projects as assigned

 

 

Education/Experience/Skills Required:

  • A minimum of 3 – 5 years of high-volume progressive AP processing experience required
  • SAP experience preferred with knowledge electronic accounts payable processing required
  • Previous experience and expertise with Microsoft Office applications, including intermediate Excel skills required
  • Strong analytical capabilities and strong written and verbal communication skills required
  • Self-starter who is drawn towards taking initiative, can multi-task, has strong interpersonal skills with an ability to respond to inquiries and effectively present information to accounting and business managers
  • Ability to identify and define problems, collect supporting data, establish facts, propose solutions, and meet deadlines

Applications Developer

The role of the Applications Developer at Bumble Bee is responsible for developing creative solutions to the requirements of our business users. This may include both strategic/operational applications development or reporting strategies for any business unit of Bumble Bee Seafoods.

 

Responsibilities

 

Specific responsibilities include supporting critical software applications, report building, project participation, planning and application development using the .NET framework.

 

This Developer will support management in helping to develop and implement business solutions and optimize operations, conduct impact analysis of systems, upgrades and changes to supported applications for the business units, and may oversee systems and business processes for feasibility.

 

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Experience complying with SDLC standards for creation and/or implementation of software in a project-based environment.
  • Assist the team ensuring compliance with industry standard audit practices and regulations.
  • Assist in gathering functional requirements, document custom code, system validation, and release management.
  • Assist in managing customer expectations and communication (both oral and written)
  • Collaborate effectively with business units across the globe and in different time zones as needed.
  • Team player on all IT projects.

 

Qualifications:

 

Software Developers will have experience in a variety of areas to support the business objectives:

  • 1+ year(s) web-based application development exposure
  • 1+ year(s) experience with database design and development and SQL programming (preferably Transact-SQL)
  • 1+ year(s) experience with Microsoft .NET Framework 6 and above with an emphasis on ASP.NET MVC web development
  • Strong knowledge of a variety of programming languages including C#, HTML 5, JavaScript and its libraries (i.e. JQuery, Angular.js, etc.), or ability to quickly learn and adapt.”
  • Experience working with the Microsoft Power Platform (strong emphasis on Power BI) a plus.
  • General knowledge of Azure cloud services
  • Proficient in Model-View-Controller (MVC) concepts and its implementation in web development
  • Experience with code collaboration in Azure DevOps
  • Experience with IOS coding is a plus.

 

Education and Experience:

 

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, or Computer Science preferred. Microsoft Certified Professional Developer (MCPD) or Microsoft Certified Database Administrators (MCDBA) a plus. The ability to showcase experience with previously developed mobile APPs, databases structures, or .NET based applications is a plus.

Contracts Paralegal

Duties & Responsibilities

 

The ideal candidate is highly organized and able to handle a large breadth of duties, easily moving from one task to another with significant experience with contracts, corporate filings and managing databases.  In addition to the duties listed below, employees holding this position will be required to perform any other job-related duties as requested by the General Counsel.

 

  • Managing Bumble Bee’s contract management system including managing user setup and administration, system administration and workflows, requests for review,  contract lifecycles, running of reports, input of contract metadata, etc. Requires a general knowledge and ability to recognize typical contractual provisions (term, termination, renewal, non-compete, etc.).
  • Collaborate with members of the Legal team, IT department and internal users on improving contract management system.
  • Draft, review and revise standard contracts (e.g., NDAs, standard consultant agreements, etc.) with minimal attorney supervision.
  • Manage trademark database, including working with US, Canadian and international marketing departments on filings, renewals, oppositions, and other trademark matters; review corporate and marketing materials from IP perspective. Act as a liaison with outside IP counsel for trademark.
  • Prepare resolutions, officer’s certificates, compliance certificates, incumbency certificates and other corporate documents and other general assistance with corporate and finance transactions. Maintain board minutes, organizational documents, and corporate structure charts.
  • Liaison with consumer affairs to track and manage consumer complaints and responses.
  • Prepare, file, and maintain various corporate type filings.
  • Interface with many internal groups (e.g., Finance, Tax, Marketing) and outside counsel to provide corporate information and general corporate assistance.
  • Process and code legal invoices, review, file and organize various legal documents/communications.
  • Assist with litigation matters, including preparation of discovery responses, subpoena responses and acting as liaison for other requests from outside counsel.
  • Assist with corporate compliance and training matters, including FDA, antitrust, FCPA and other applicable laws and regulations.

 

 

Education/Experience/Skills Required

 

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3-8 years’ experience within a small but fast paced corporate environment.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize issues and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. The ability to work on projects independently or with little supervision. Flexibility and ability to adapt to constantly changing priorities. Exercising independent judgment and initiative and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to work with individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Paralegal Certificate preferred, but not required.
