SAN DIEGO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Nutritious, delicious and versatile Bumble Bee tuna and salmon products are a winner in the Favorite Fish Brand category in the Allrecipes Community Choice Awards 2021.

Allrecipes, a Meredith Corporation media brand and the world’s largest online community of cooks, helps home cooks around the globe discover and share the joy of cooking through community-driven content. The inaugural Allrecipes Community Choice Awards invited the Allrecipes community to identify their favorite brands in 58 pantry-product categories via an online survey conducted in the Spring of 2020.

“We are thrilled that home cooks around the world recognize Bumble Bee tuna and salmon products as the high-quality, front-of-your pantry staples that they are,” said Jeanine Lewis, Vice President, Brand Marketing at Bumble Bee. “As so many of us continue to spend more time at home, our seafood products meet the need for a versatile protein source that works for lunch or dinner in a variety of easy-to-prepare meals.”

The Allrecipes award comes amid a bold journey of transformation for the 120-year-old seafood company. In 2020, Bumble Bee completed an award-winning packaging re-design aimed to refresh and modernize the product packaging to emphasize messages of flavor, health and wellness. The company showcased the new design in a ground-breaking television and digital advertising campaign known as “Yes! Bumble Bee!,” the first major advertising campaign for the brand in years. The campaign centers on touting tuna’s many benefits and asking consumers to reconsider the ways they traditionally used Bumble Bee’s products.

Bumble Bee’s canned and pouched seafood products can help provide an affordable source of seafood nutrition for consumers of all ages. Recently, the United States Departments of Agriculture (USDA) released the 2020-2025 Dietary Guidelines for Americans (DGA). The new guidelines recommend that Americans of all ages, particularly young children and pregnant women, should eat seafood at least twice weekly – an amount that less than 20 percent of Americas are currently meeting. For the first time, the Dietary Guidelines address the nutrition needs of babies and toddlers under two, recommending that seafood can, and should, be introduced beginning around 6 months of age to support brain development and immunity for babies and toddlers. For adults, seafood provides protein, calcium and vitamin D, which help strengthen bones and maintain muscle mass.
