US tuna canner Bumble Bee Foods recently won recognition from the group Graphic Design USA for its canned and pouched tuna packaging redesign, part of efforts to reinvigorate the category’s sales.

The San Diego, California-based canner said that the redesign, which was taken collaboration with the firm BexBrands, was a winner in the 2020 American Package Design Awards.

The redesign opted for “a bright, fresh look that spotlights each products’ flavor profile in a relatable and approachable way for consumers”, Bumble Bee said.

In March, CEO Jan Tharp told Undercurrent News that she was “enthusiastic” about the company’s plans to roll out new seafood products that were “relevant” for consumers.
